The full moon in Libra (on Wednesday 4/1) radiates a harmonious yet introspective energy, inviting us to seek balance in our relationships, inner world, and outer expressions.

Libra, ruled by Venus, embodies qualities of beauty, diplomacy, justice, and connection. During this time, the moon’s light shines a spotlight on how we give and receive love, how we navigate conflict, and where we may be sacrificing our truth for the sake of peace. This is a powerful time for recalibrating partnerships, romantic, platonic, or even the relationship you have with yourself. Libra’s air element brings clarity and intellectual awareness, encouraging us to view our emotional landscapes from a more objective and fair-minded perspective.
The shadow side of Libra often reveals itself through tendencies to avoid conflict, over-accommodate others, or suppress one's authentic desires in the name of harmony. While Libra energy craves peace and connection, it can sometimes do so at the expense of truth and emotional depth. Under the light of this full moon, these patterns may surface, nudging us to ask where we are prioritizing appearances over authenticity, or where we may be losing ourselves in the roles we play for others. Shadow work is especially potent now, as the full moon acts like a mirror, reflecting both our growth and the hidden parts that still long for integration.
This is a powerful time to pause and reflect: What old patterns in love, communication, or self-worth are ready to be released? The full moon in Libra offers a chance to gently peel back the layers of conditioning and reclaim your voice. You may find that what you thought was "keeping the peace" was actually silencing a deeper truth. This lunation invites you to redefine what balance means, not as constant stillness, but as a dynamic dance between self and other, giving and receiving, expression and listening.

As you sit with these reflections, know that Libra’s gift is not just in creating beauty, but in restoring fairness and the right relationship. This full moon is your invitation to move forward with clarity, grace, and deeper self-respect, choosing authenticity over appeasement, and balance that begins within.
Indigenous Teaching
Our indigenous teaching for this moon comes from the Ojibwee name for this moon, the suckerfish moon. This is the story of the suckerfish and her medicine of cleansing.
During the times of creation, the suckerfish possessed an incredible ability to reproduce and provided an abundance of food for the people, preventing starvation. But the people became more and more disconnected from the spirit world. Suckerfish saw this and knew that reconnecting the people to the great spirit was the only way. So she traveled to the stars on the river of stars to ask the great spirit what she could do to help the people to reconnect back to their roots, back to spirit. The great spirit showed the suckerfish how to cleanse and purify their heart so they could share this medicine with the people and renew their connection to the spirit world.
Suckerfish came back down and shared this knowledge with the people and that's how we know the ways of cleansing our energy. The animal medicine of this moon comes from the frog, a powerful reminder that to maintain internal balance, we must purify and cleanse ourselves with intention, often.
One way to tap into cleansing is with smoke. This is a long time tradition for indigenous people and each herb holds its own medicine. See the HERB LIST for a comprehensive list of ways you can create a cleansing smoke mix that is aligned with staying culturally appropriate.
This brings us back to the message of Libra and seeking internal balance, let the medicine of the suckerfish and frog help to remind you that all you need is within, with your time and intention, you will reconnect with your deep inner guide and restore balance.
Shadow Work Prompts:
In what ways do I silence my truth to maintain external harmony?
What relationship dynamics no longer feel mutual or nourishing?
Where do I need to establish firmer boundaries to protect my peace?
How can I honor my desire for connection without abandoning myself?
What do I need to let go of?
Full Moon Affirmation “I allow this purification moon to bathe my sacred space and body with light & radiance. I am clear and aligned. I am the medicine.”
Happy Full Moon
