Full Moon in Aries 10/6

ree

On Monday (10/6) we have a Full Moon in the bold and fiery sign of Aries. The Full Moon in Aries blazes across the sky with fierce, unapologetic energy. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the spark that begins it all. This energy is primal, raw, and deeply connected to courage, independence, and self-discovery. When the moon glows bright in this fiery sign, it illuminates our truest desires and the parts of ourselves that long to break free. Aries is ruled by the planet Mars, the planet of direct action.

The energy of Aries is very dynamic and blunt and can thrive with life on the edge, the chase is more thrilling than the reward. They are willing to take a gamble or follow their dreams. Use this energy to dive into what has been standing in your way of doing this with a full and open heart. Use this combative and spicy spirit of Aries to push through the barriers you have in esteem and being seen by others.

This is not a gentle moon.

Aries doesn’t whisper: it roars. It pushes us to face what’s been holding us back with honest fire and to act with conviction. The question it asks is simple but powerful: Where have you dimmed your flame to keep the peace? Where have you hesitated to take action out of fear or self-doubt?

Full moons always bring release, and under Aries, that release comes through bold movement; through choosing yourself, even if it feels uncomfortable. This is a time to let go of hesitation, of the need for external validation, and of the old identities that no longer fit. Aries teaches us that self-awareness and self-assertion are not selfish, they are sacred acts of truth.

You might feel a rush of restlessness or the urge to act on something that’s been simmering beneath the surface. This is the universe’s way of clearing the stagnation that’s been building. Let it move through you consciously. Rather than reacting impulsively, channel the fire into transformation. Move your body, express your truth, write, create, or cry: whatever allows the energy to flow.

This Moon is our Harvest Moon, The Harvest Moon has long been a symbol of abundance, gratitude, and deep connection to the cycles of the Earth. It is the full moon closest to the autumn equinox, rising large and golden in the sky, casting its luminous glow over ripening fields and changing forests. For centuries, this moon has guided communities in marking the time of gathering, not only of crops, but of lessons, insights, and spiritual growth cultivated throughout the year.

Across many Indigenous cultures, the Harvest Moon is more than a celestial event; it is a sacred reminder of the interdependence between people, the land, and the cosmos. The moon has always been a teacher; its cycles mirror the natural rhythms of life, growth, rest, and renewal. Indigenous peoples throughout North America and beyond have honored these lunar phases with ceremony, storytelling, and offerings, recognizing that what happens in the heavens reflects what happens within us.

The Harvest Moon is a time of celebration and reciprocity. It marked the moment to give thanks for the generosity of the Earth,  for the corn, squash, beans, berries, and medicines that sustained the people. It was also a time to honor the unseen forces: the rains, the sun, the pollinators, and the ancestral spirits who ensured the balance of life continued. In many traditions, harvest gatherings were also moments of renewal, where communities came together to share food, songs, and stories, strengthening bonds before the long, introspective months of winter.

This moon reminds us of an ancient wisdom that still speaks clearly today: We are not separate from the Earth; we are a living part of her cycles. When we plant seeds, tend them, and later harvest their fruit, we are participating in a sacred exchange. What we take must be balanced with what we give. Gratitude and awareness are the heart of sustainability, something Indigenous peoples have known and lived for generations.

Shadow work:

  • Where in my life have I been impulsive?

  • Where am I resisting changes in my life?

  • Where in my life have I been meek or timid?

  • In what area of my life do I have the most self-doubt?

  • What do I need to let go of to reignite my fire?

Allow yourself to sit with your answers and visualize these energies you are working to let go of, start to loosen their grips and release. Come back to this every Full Moon to reengage with your practice and let go a little more each moon cycle.
