This Full Moon (tomorrow 9/17) is also a partial lunar eclipse. (A lunar eclipse is when the Sun and Moon align in such a way that the Moon is in front of the Sun, blocking its visibility for a moment.) This represents a rebalance of the Sun and Moon, the masculine and feminine.
PISCES ENERGY:
As we are in the sign of Pisces for this Moon, we are being lured into a focus of emotional release, restoration, and balance. Pisces is one of the three water signs and is typically seen as the deepest when it comes to emotional substance. Pisces is intuitive, sensitive, free, and expressive. Pisces flows with their emotions and can get caught in the wake of fleeting feelings. Pisces is ruled by Neptune, giving enhancement in the area of dreams and mysticism when we are pulled into this energy by planetary events.
Pisces are known for their boundless
compassion and empathy. They have a natural ability to feel and understand the emotions of others, often making them supportive friends and caring individuals. Their sensitivity extends beyond just human connection—they are attuned to the energies around them, making them emotionally responsive and highly intuitive. Pisces often rely on their gut feelings rather than logical reasoning, and their imaginations are vivid and alive, which fuels their creative endeavors. Pisces are dreamers, artists, and spiritual seekers who view life through an emotional and intuitive lens.
When working with this deep emotional energy, I suggest trying to be open, let that emotional energy flow through you without resistance. There can be a little fear associated with opening yourself up in this way, but when it comes to shadow work, diving into self, trying to reconnect with that part of yourself that you have been searching for, don’t hold back. Try to allow yourself to touch your spirit deeply. This is the true energy of Pisces, deeply spiritual and connected to the essence of life.
FULL MOON:
The energy of the full moon is potent and transformative, often associated with heightened emotions, culmination, and illumination. As the moon reaches its fullest point in its cycle, it brings a sense of completion, clarity, and amplified energy to whatever has been building in our lives.
During the full moon, emotions tend to be intensified. This is a time when our subconscious thoughts and hidden feelings may come to the surface, offering an opportunity for deep self-awareness. The light of the full moon metaphorically shines on areas of our lives that may need attention, revealing truths or realizations we may have been avoiding. It can be a time of emotional breakthroughs, personal insights, and a deeper connection to intuition. (a perfect time to dive into that shadow work)
The full moon is also closely tied to the concept of cycles and endings. As it represents the peak of the lunar cycle, it often signals a time of completion—whether it be the completion of a project, a phase in life, or an emotional journey. It's a time to reflect on what has come to fruition since the last new moon and evaluate whether we need to let go of what no longer serves us.
WORKING WITH ECLIPSE ENERGY:
A lunar eclipse is an amplifying energy of a regular full moon but with a deeper, more transformative influence. During a lunar eclipse, the Earth passes between the sun and the moon, temporarily blocking the moon’s light and casting a shadow. This celestial event symbolizes a turning point, signaling dramatic shifts, revelations, and endings in our lives.
Lunar eclipses are often associated with sudden clarity or realizations, especially regarding emotional matters. They tend to bring hidden or unresolved issues to the surface, illuminating aspects of our lives that may have been neglected or ignored. The shadow cast over the moon represents the unveiling of truths, allowing us to see things from a new perspective, often forcing us to confront what we’ve been avoiding. This can be a time of emotional intensity and upheaval, as old patterns, relationships, or situations that no longer align with our growth come to a close.
While the energy of a lunar eclipse can feel overwhelming or disruptive, it ultimately serves a greater purpose in pushing us toward personal transformation. Eclipses mark significant turning points in our journey, making it a time for releasing the old and making room for the new. The changes that occur during an eclipse often feel fated, as though they are part of a larger cosmic plan guiding us toward where we need to be.
The energy of a lunar eclipse is also tied to cycles of karma and destiny, often bringing about events or decisions that have long-lasting effects. Because of this, it’s common for eclipses to bring closure to situations or relationships that have been lingering, or to prompt decisions that lead to major life shifts. It’s a time when the universe seems to take the reins, pushing us toward necessary growth, even if it feels uncomfortable.
The energy of a lunar eclipse can be transformative and intense. It is a time of deep emotional cleansing, endings, and revelations, all of which are meant to realign us with our true path. Though the changes it brings can be challenging, the lunar eclipse ultimately clears the way for new beginnings and greater clarity moving forward.
RELEASE:
This full moon eclipse is a powerful time for emotional release, and this combination of energy tends to bring unresolved feelings and deep emotions to the surface, the subconscious to the conscious. The heightened lunar influence can amplify our emotional state, making it easier to confront and process emotions that may have been buried or ignored. This is why the full moon is often seen as a time of letting go, particularly of negative feelings, old wounds, and emotional patterns that no longer serve us. By shining a light on these inner dynamics, the full moon offers an opportunity for emotional cleansing and healing.
Engaging in rituals or practices that promote emotional release during the full moon can be deeply transformative and something I like to do during this Moon cycle is to write down some of the things that I have been holding onto. The things that maybe I have been working to let go of piece by piece. I write down things about myself I want to learn to let go of. I put my entire intention and energy into what I am writing. The key is to allow yourself to fully feel and express whatever emotions arise, without judgment.
Ask yourself, "What do I need to let go of right now?" and "What is standing in the way of me fully letting go?"
After I write, I simply burn the paper under the full moon. In a safe place, fire safe, usually in my abalone shell. This process of emotional release is not only cathartic but also helps create space for new experiences and energy to flow into your life.
Letting go during this full moon eclipse helps lighten the emotional load, allowing for clarity and renewal. It’s a time to acknowledge what has come to an end, whether it's a relationship, a mindset, or an emotional pattern, and to consciously release any lingering attachments. In doing so, you align yourself with the natural cycles of life, preparing for the new beginnings that the next lunar phase will bring. The emotional release during this moon cycle can be a deeply healing and empowering experience, fostering a greater sense of inner peace and emotional balance.
Breathe in and let it go babe.
Happy Full Moon
love,
Jess
