First New Moon of 2026~Capricorn

We have our first New Moon of 2026 happening on 1/18 in the sign of Capricorn. Normally I like to set my yearly intentions in the Spring when the world is coming back alive. However, This is a very 10th house heavy New Moon, the 10th house is the realm of work and business. Our Sun is in the same sign of Capricorn, so if there was a time to examine your goals and aspirations, it would be when the sun is in Capricorn and the new moon is also in Capricorn. Pushing us to take the lead and step into our inner power. 

Capricorn energy is serious and about the end results. If you have been putting off diving into that big project, changing careers, something big involving your work life, now is the time to start walking towards those doors. Capricorn does not play when it comes to their energy and being efficient with how it is spent, so this is a great time to also examine where you are giving your energy and how you could reevaluate that to better suit your end goals and dreams. Doing this will better support you in reaching the heights you see yourself getting to. 

Capricorn energy can be seen as harsh and rigid, so beware of that rigidity creeping up, especially for the earth signs. Being in control has nothing to do with others and everything to do with being in full control of yourself. The energy of Capricorn is also patient, so if you have been working on something for a while, GO FOR IT. Take the leap, walk in that direction with your Capricorn spirit fully embodied. 

The New Moon needs that belief that you feel deserving of receiving too. When I am working on this aspect of my manifesting, I pay close attention to the words I use. I speak in present tense, like it is already mine. Not “if” I can achieve the goal, but when. Believe that this thing you are dreaming of every day is already yours, because it is. 

New Moon Shadow Work:

• What am I working towards/for?

• How can I boldly walk towards the above?

• How is my rigidity standing in the way of my progress?

• Write out a few positive affirmations or mantras for yourself (I am worthy of everything I am working for. I am deserving of it all)

• I am a magnet for…….

Take some time over the next few days and tap into yourself to awaken this Capricorn energy within. Spend a moment going inward to invite this force to ride to the surface.
