We are all sacred
Choosing compassion was just a great book and here’s another snippet.
“As human beings, not only do we forget to recognize that all living beings are sacred; we also forget the sacredness of our own being. Throughout history, over and over again, we humans forget that every group of people, every gender and every race, is equal, the same in the sense that all have the same divine nature. All need to be treated with respect and dignity. We can make a promise or a vow to constantly remember that everything is sacred. The world is sacred. All living beings, each human being that you meet, is sacred.
All want to be happy, and all deserve that opportunity. Everybody and everything is equally sacred. There is no hierarchy in sacred.
No one is more sacred than another. This is an important point to remember.”
This reiterates those points of inter connectivity, our deep connection to one another, and to everything around us. Intern connectivity is at the heart of my own indigenous culture, and at the heart of my teachings as a Mindfulness teacher. We are all connected and related much more than we can ever understand.
