Pisces-Blackberry Full Moon

Aug 25
4 min read

This Friday we have a juicy Full Moon Eclipse in the dreamy sign of Pisces. The energy of Pisces is very dreamy, very attached to the realm of the unseen, and can also awaken emotionality wherever it touches.

Eclipses are concentrations for energy surges, and we have been in the bridge of eclipses. We have been in the energy between a solar and lunar eclipse. A lunar eclipse is when the Earth blocks the sun‘s light by moving in between the sun and the moon. This is a deep time for transformational work like shadow work as these shadows are being forced into the seen.

This can definitely push those unseen feelings to the surface, especially in the placement of Pisces. Pisces is very connected to the realm of the unseen, pushing these unseen things to the surface for release in this full moon phase. Pisces energy is also very deep. Pisces is the deepest of the water signs and this invites us to reach new depths within when it comes to introspection and release.

I think that sometimes Pisces energy gets a bad rap for being chaotic or people labeled Pisces as being very unstable. However, I believe that that perception comes from the waves of emotionality that Pisces naturally possesses and invites. So as these waves are invited within because of the energy of Pisces peeking, ask yourself what can you do to better support yourself through the wave.

Because as much as Pisces is chaotic. Pisces is very loving and comforting. When you look at the element of water, water can be destructive and chaotic, but water can also be very peaceful and calming. Everything has these dualistic qualities to them, including the energy of Pisces. During this full moon eclipse and Pisces, we are being invited to unearthed those hidden emotional items that create a lot of inner waves and offer yourself a loving landing place.

Pisces is also the realm of dreams so anytime the moon hits Pisces. I encourage everybody to pay more attention to the dreamworld. Whether that’s your dreams at night or your daydreams during the day. Pay more attention to these messages as this energy is a little stronger right now.

The indigenous story for this month surrounds the blackberry.

In the early times of creation, there was a lot of darkness and quiet. The blackberry had lots of time to reflect and to be inward. As the Earth began to fill with other beings, other plants and animals, the blackberry watched as the world came to life around them. They watched the seeds turn to flowers. They watched Saplings turn into mighty trees. They witnessed the rainbows come in after storms, the blackberries watch the world bloom around them, and learned to listen more than they spoke.

Every time one of the other beings had a question blackberry would lead the questionnaire back to themselves.

“What does your spirit say, how does your heart feel? What are your dreams telling you?”

blackberry would reply. All of the other plants and animals felt frustrated because all they wanted was blackberry to give them the answer. But the blackberry stayed rooted in their knowing trusting that all would reveal itself in time with reflection and deep, inner listening.

With the blackberry modeling how to receive this in your wisdom, all of the other creatures begin to practice this way of being. They would go inward to listen to their inner guidance. They would ask the Earth or the great spirit they begin to build their intuition and in knowledge. This created a more peaceful environment amongst all the beings with less fighting and competition. As each of the beings began to embody the practice of going inward, of deep, inner listening, they begin to trust their inner knowledge.

The medicine of the blackberry is a reminder of our own inner wisdom that is waiting to be awakened. We all walk beside one another, acknowledging our own individual gifts and value that we carry that we can offer to one another.

The animal medicine of this full moon comes from the crane. The crane is our guide and our connection with our inner self and to the spirit realm. This animal is a masterful communicator and helps us in those connections to spirit. The message of the crane is that sometimes the most information comes to us in stillness and quiet and the crane asks us to listen carefully to draw from that inner medicine.

Shadow work:

  • What fears do I have about going to new depths of self?

  • Are there any emotions I’ve been struggling to express or feel lately?

  • How can I deepen my connection with spirit/universe/god?

  • What do I need to let go of right now?

Full moon affirmation from Asha: “ I allow this moon of spiritual connection to continue to nourish my daily relationship with my support team. May I be curious and listen to the call of the animals and may I walk humbly with gratitude. I am the medicine.”

Happy Full Moon!
