Finding grace while riding the waves.

One of my favorite oracle decks I read with is called the Talisman Oracle deck and there is a card called emotional balance that shows the image of a jelly fish. The message behind this card is to be like the jellyfish and go with the flow, the way that she flows with the gentle currents of the ocean - this is what brings emotional balance back into our lives. When we can let go and go with the flow - much easier said than done.
The jellyfish doesn’t try to fight against the current. What she does is relaxes back and allows the current to take her where she needs to go. Relax and flow is the message behind this card, which is so beautifully paired with the phrase ebb & flow.
The restoration of emotional balance requires us to stop, reevaluate, and move in a different direction (or at least be open to the possibility of it). The ebbing and flowing we encounter in life is never ending and our response to those periods of ebb are excellent teachers. That’s when our shadows come out the most. Letting go is one of the hardest aspects of the work, but it is what we are called to do to go further in, to heal, and to find happiness in life. Thich Nhat Hahn said, “Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything - anger, anxiety, or possessions - we cannot be free.”
The card and message for today is to reevaluate your sense of flow to restore balance to your life. Let go of what holds you back, let go of what feels bad, what feels heavy or what feels unaligned. If you’ve been feeling out of balance, emotionally, ask yourself where have you been holding on tightly? What would it be like to let go and allow universal flow to take the lead?
