We have a Full Moon Eclipse on Tuesday March 3rd. This eclipse energy puts much emphasis on The energy of Virgo. This energy is practical, reserved and modest at heart. Virgo is an analytical energy that is constantly seeking to know and understand. Virgo is ruled by the planet Mercury, the planet of communication and intelligence. Virgo is highly intelligent and can give a cool and calm impression at first glance, this is often coupled with an anxious vibe too. The anxious center comes from the desire to be moving, Virgo is a sign of action, use this motivating energy to propel yourself forward. Virgo’s energy brings a need to constantly strive to bring order out of the chaos of life. The spirit of the Virgo is always searching for more, better and improvements. This is a great time to examine your morals and values and take inventory of how those are aligning with the life you are building today.
The laws of attraction are strong in this energy of Virgo. It’s simple but not easy, if you hold onto the negative, the reality you live in will also unfold negatively. Look at these patterns of negativity and how they unfold in your life, and work to let them go. We all get caught up in the preoccupations of perfection, taking this Virgo energy to heart, look into the areas of life that you have been putting too much pressure on yourself to be perfect and begin to let some of that weight go.
The energy of Virgo is brilliant for internal action, helping us to ignite that internal fire again, guiding us to channel that care-taker energy of Virgo and turn it inward will help to ease the feelings of upset that can come along with deep self-work. Use this full moon to help you release those unwanted energies of self-sabotage and judgement to step into a higher sense of self through the intelligence and delicacy of Virgo.

Our indigenous teaching for this moon comes from the Ojibwee name for this moon, the sugar moon. This is the story of the Maple tree and her medicine.
During the time of creation, all of the trees started as tiny seeds. As seeds, they all shared their aspirations for what they would hope to grow into. Pine had hoped to be fragrant, Birch had dreamed of being on the water as a canoe, but when it came to Maple to share her dreams and hopes of what she could grow into, she found that she didn't have any vision of what the future might be for her. The other trees were not kind to Maple for not having a dream like them. They taunted her and made her believe that she was not as powerful or helpful as the other trees. Maple took their words into her heart and felt a deep sadness. Maple wondered if she was even good enough to be a tree.
Each day Maple grew bigger and bigger and the birds watched her carefully. Every day they would try to uplift her and help to encourage her. Over time, the birds and the Maple tree grew a bonded love for each other.
One day a strong wind blew through and swept all of the birds to the ground, knocking them all unconscious. To Maple’s horror, she scooped up all of the birds and wept as they held them close to her heart. Maple cried deep tears of sorrow and pain for her dear companions, the birds, these tears flowed freely out of Maple and onto the bird she held. These tears that came from deep within were the pains she had held onto since she was a young maple. This pain she held onto, when released and shared became the sweet tears, the healing nectar, exactly what the birds needed to come back to full life. The bird awoke with joy, grateful to their friend for her gentle medicine.
The Maple tree teaches us that it's the sweetness that heals, not the harshness.
The animal medicine of this moon is the deer. Maple sap fills us with sweetness and provides nourishment, this is aligned with the medicine of the deer. Deer is humble and quiet, an energy of grace and tenderness. Deer reminds us to be soft, to love and honor ourselves as we are. Just like the medicine of the Maple, Deer brings in sweetness.
Shadow Work:
How do I hold in my pain?
In what ways do I harshly judge myself?
How can I be sweeter to myself?
What patterns can I see in my life that are not serving my highest self?
How can I let these patterns go? (see above prompt)
Full moon affirmation: “I am loveable and worthy AS I AM. Gentleness and unconditional love heal me. Enough in every way, I am the medicine.”
Happy Full Moon!
